New York Jets AFC East
Trade Details
TEXANS MOVE UP TO DRAFT WR STRONG Friday, May 1, 2015
The Houston Texans acquired a third-round draft pick in 2015 (No. 70 overall) from the New York Jets for wide receiver DeVier Posey, a third-round draft pick in 2015 (No. 82 overall), a fifth-round draft pick in 2015 (No. 152 overall) and a seventh-round draft pick in 2015 (No. 229 overall).
What does it give the Houston Texans?
The Texans moved up 12 spots in Round 3 in order to draft wideout Jaelen Strong, a big possession type who will probably make a big impact right away for Houston. They gave up a lot in return but the Texans needed a high-impact receiver to help replace the departed Andre Johnson (Indianapolis).
What does it give the New York Jets?
For the Jets, they did well to accumulate extra assets here in exchange for moving down a dozen notches in the third round. Posey is an interesting player who might be able to find his niche with New York, while the third rounder was used to select outside linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin.
Fantasy Impact
Strong should have pretty good fantasy value in Houston, as he is a likely starter opposite the talented DeAndre Hopkins. Posey might have a bit more of an opportunity with the Jets, though he's still a fantasy dark horse. Mauldin won't get enough sacks as a rookie to be on the fantasy football individual defensive player (IDP) radar.
