VIKINGS ADD SPEEDSTER MIKE WALLACE Friday, March 13, 2015
The Minnesota Vikings acquired wide receiver Mike Wallace and a seventh-round draft pick in 2015 from the Miami Dolphins for a fifth-round draft pick in 2015.
What does it give the Minnesota Vikings?
In Wallace, the Vikings land a tremendous deep threat (one of the best in the NFL, in fact). Wallace should help second-year QB Bridgewater immensely in 2015, as well as the running game (probably led by veteran Peterson if he returns). Wallace will likely team with Johnson Jennings and perhaps Patterson to form a very solid group of receivers in Minnesota.
What does it give the Miami Dolphins?
For the Dolphins, this trade was largely a salary dump. The recent acquisition of Stills from New Orleans made Wallace somewhat expendable. In fact, the latter had been on the trading block for some time now. He had expressed a desire to leave and even had issues with Miami starting quarterback Tannehill It was definitely time for Wallace to move on. That said, the Fins didn't get much in return.
Fantasy Impact
Wallace's fantasy value should remain the same moving from Miami to Minnesota, though the Vikings have recently been far more of a running team than the Dolphins. That may change, however, if Minny decides to part ways with Peterson this off-season.
