JACKSONVILLE JETTISONS JOSH OLIVER TO BALTIMORE Thursday, March 18, 2021
The Baltimore Ravens acquired tight end Josh Oliver from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2022.
What does it give the Baltimore Ravens?
The Ravens use tight ends as much as any team in the NFL, so adding a young prospect with untapped upside in Oliver makes a lot of sense for them. The 2019 third-rounder has a chance to carve out a decent role with Baltimore, but first he must prove he can stay healthy (which he has not been able to do, so far).
What does it give the Jacksonville Jaguars?
With a new regime now in place in Jacksonville, some players were deemed expendable. Oliver, who appeared in only four games in 2019 (and none last season), was one such player. The Jaguars received very little in return for his services, but clearly this team will not utilize the tight end much going forward.
Fantasy Impact
Oliver is an interesting prospect for deep keeper formats. Otherwise, fantasy leaguers need to see a healthy Oliver on the field before making any type of commitment in most leagues.
