New York Jets AFC East
Trade Details
McLENDON MOVED TO TAMPA BAY Sunday, October 18, 2020
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired defensive lineman Steve McLendon and a seventh-round draft pick in 2023 from the New York Jets for a sixth-round draft pick in 2022.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
In McLendon, the Buccaneers get a veteran interior D-lineman who can plug gaps and stuff the running game. With nose tackle Vita Vea out for the season due to a broken leg, McLendon's arrival is well timed and necessary.
What does it give the New York Jets?
The Jets are winless and clearly in near-tanking mode at this point, so moving on from one of their best veterans makes sense. There could be a few other Jets players traded before this year's deadline.
Fantasy Impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as McLendon is not a great pass rusher from the inside--not enough to be a consideration in IDP leagues anyway. There is nothing to see here.
