TITANS JETTISON JURRELL CASEY Thursday, March 19, 2020
The Denver Broncos acquired defensive lineman Jurrell Casey from the Tennessee Titans for a seventh-round draft pick in 2020.
What does it give the Denver Broncos?
The Broncos were expected to address their defensive front at some point, so they did well to land a quality veteran in Casey (who can play any position up front). A dominant run stuffer, Casey may play nose tackle in Denver's 3-4 scheme or revert back to his familiar defensive tackle/end hybrid role that made him a major success in Tennessee.
What does it give the Tennessee Titans?
The Titans did not get much in return for one of their top players here, but the fact Denver was willing to take on Casey's contract (3 years, $41.2 million) should greatly help Tennessee in their quest to lock up franchise running back Derrick Henry--who was recently given the franchise tag. That said, the Titans will miss Casey in the middle of their defense.
Fantasy Impact
Casey's numbers were down a bit last season but he remains a stellar defensive tackle. In terms of fantasy value, he is among the most consistent interior linemen but there are always better options in most IDP leagues.
