The Saints decided to bring in Alonso for added linebacker depth. He brings more experience to the position than Biegel but is not expected to make much of an impact in New Orleans.

Biegel could slide into Alonso's projected backup linebacker role with Miami, as rookie Sam Eguavoen outplayed Alonso and was expected to beat him out after the preseason.

Neither Alonso nor Biegel should be picked up in IDP leagues, as neither player is expected to play enough snaps to rack up the necessary tackles count to make a difference. On the other hand, Eguavoen might be worth a look in very deep leagues.
