HOLLISTER HEADED TO SEATTLE Monday, April 29, 2019
The Seattle Seahawks acquired tight end Jacob Hollister from the New England Patriots for a seventh-round draft pick in 2020.
What does it give the Seattle Seahawks?
The Seahawks are a tad thin at the tight end position, so bringing in Hollister makes sense at this time. He will not be an immediate impact player for Seattle, nor is he likely to start ahead of the likes of Nick Vannett, Will Dissly and/or veteran Ed Dickson. Hollister was added for depth, mostly.
What does it give the New England Patriots?
It is somewhat surprising that the Patriots traded away a tight end this off-season, since one of the greatest of all time (Rob Gronkowski) announced his retirement from the NFL recently. That said, New England added veterans Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Matt LaCosse as free agents in the off-season.
Fantasy Impact
Hollister has negligible fantasy value at this time. Moreover, he moved from a team that likes to throw inside to the tight ends a lot (New England) to a team that rarely features the position on offense (Seattle).
