This is a big move by Kansas City, as Clark should become a focal point in the team's new 4-3 base defense (under coordinator Steve Spagnuolo). He will play along the D-line and come off the edge to provide KC with legitimate pass-rushing ability. He essentially replaces Dee Ford (traded to San Francisco), who was viewed more as an outside linebacker than a defensive end. KC also receives an upgrade in Round 3 of this week's draft, moving up eight spots from No. 93 to No. 85 overall.

The Seahawks franchise-tagged Clark but later decided to move him in this big deal. Part of the motivation to trade him was surely financial, but it probably had a lot to do with Kansas City's aggressiveness here and the final offer received. Seattle received the No. 29 overall pick in this year's draft, which gives them two picks between the No. 20-30 selections. They also will receive the lower of KC's two second rounder in next year's draft. The 'Hawks now have issues at defensive end, though.

Clark should continue to be a good source of sacks in IDP fantasy leagues this coming season. Meanwhile, Seattle has to turn to the likes of Quinton Jefferson, Cassius Marsh, Rasheem Green, Branden Jackson and Nate Orchard on the edge for their pass rush (none of whom have much in the way of fantasy value). Look for the Seahawks to address the defensive end position in this week's draft.
