PANTHERS PICK UP OT COREY ROBINSON Saturday, September 1, 2018
The Carolina Panthers acquired offensive lineman Corey Robinson from the Detroit Lions for a seventh-round draft pick in 2020.
What does it give the Carolina Panthers?
The Panthers were not totally comfortable with their offensive tackles heading into the 2018 regular season, so they sent a late pick to Detroit in exchange for Robinson. He should be used as a swing tackle in Carolina, backing up both LT Matt Kalil and RT Daryl Williams.
What does it give the Detroit Lions?
The Lions felt far more comfortable with their offensive line than the Panthers did, which is why they felt they could afford to move on from Robinson (a 2015 seventh rounder) in exchange for a seventh rounder in the 2020 NFL Draft. This deal works for all parties involved.
Fantasy Impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Robinson is an offensive lineman who will probably be used in a backup role by the Panthers in 2018.
