The Dolphins were desperate to add depth to the interior of their D-line, especially after losing Ndamukong Suh to free agency. Spence will help, a little, but he first needs to make the team in training camp.

The Lions felt they no longer needed Spence as part of their defensive tackle rotation, so they decided to accept a very minimal return from Miami in return. Detroit will likely receive the seventh rounder if Spence makes Miami.

This trade has very little fantasy impact, as Spence will be a rotational player if he even makes the Dolphins out of training camp.
