BILLS SEND O-T GLENN TO BENGALS, MOVE UP IN DRAFT Wednesday, March 14, 2018
The Cincinnati Bengals acquired offensive tackle Cordy Glenn, a 1st-round draft pick in 2018, and a 5th-round draft pick in 2018 from the Buffalo Bills for a 1st-round draft pick in 2018 (No. 12 overall) and a 6th-round draft pick in 2018 (No. 187 overall).
What does it give the Cincinnati Bengals?
Glenn is a talented starting offensive tackle who can help the Bengals continue improving offensively. His salary is fairly large, but he's a quality performer and the Bengals are getting a 2018 first-round pick back in this deal (No. 21 overall) along with the fifth-rounder (No. 158). Cincy has the pieces to be far more potent offensively, so perhaps Glenn will be a key player in helping that happen.
What does it give the Buffalo Bills?
This is a great deal for the Bills. Not only do they drop a large salary by moving Glenn, they move up in the first round of this year's NFL Draft. There is speculation Buffalo will look to add a quarterback with their new selection (No. 12 overall)--especially after recently trading Tyrod Taylor to Cleveland--but that's not a certainty. Buffy also adds the sixth-rounder here (No. 187 overall) so this is a nice haul.
Fantasy Impact
If Glenn plays up to his potential, he can help Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton be more productive. That said, his run-blocking should help the team's running backs especially (including Joe Mixon, Giovani Bernard, and Brian Hill). The Buffalo offense obviously takes a hit with Glenn's departure for now, but the off-season is young so it's not yet clear what the fantasy impact for Buffalo's players will be.
